Game Overview

Style • Design • UX/UI

The story begins with a young person and what is was like 2,500 years ago living in the Scottish Crannog which is a unique reconstruction of an ancient loch dwelling in the heart of beautiful Scotland.

The gameplay learning outcomes will be presented in a set of three a mini apps that will offer immediate player feedback, with no need for tutoring as the application will offer clear instructional which will help in the continuous use and to avoid creation of visitors’ queues.

The application has also been designed for players to join, play a short game and then leave at any time feel rewarded from a good user experience.

Pedagogy Patterns

Learn • Play • Share

The application learning outcomes are presented a visual diagram of the pedagogical patterns in order to purvey the user with a learning outcome takeaway rather just a game experience.

Application Interactions

Learn • Play • Share

The application interaction designs were fundamentally concerned with the user having meaningful interactions with the user interface. This determined what visuals methods we’re designed for the feedback of the application and if they offered the player a sense of agency.

Key Deliverables

Colour • Style Direction • Typography

The sound was chosen to complement the animation and enhance the ambiance of the gameplay

The application game play was designed focused on pedagogical theories of active and critical learning that encourage active and critical play

Through research a local Scottish attraction and through various searches the idea of creating the Scottish crannog was a strong idea

The final application  followed closely to the initial diagrams, designs and focused on visual design, animation and simple but effective interactions

Future developments for the game design would be to explore more in-depth design for the UI and having it more dynamic interaction with the gameplay

The applications future development would offer more learning outcomes and exploration of the environment through deeper narrative story telling
